Fort Collins has not caught on to designating safe bike lanes. After repaving the street the bike lane is still outside the parked cars. This would have been the opportunity to make bicycling safer. Probably it is the old “we've always done it this way” syndrome. Or maybe the street department is not aware of the problem with bike lanes on the outside of the vehicle parking. Bicyclists need to speak to the street department staff and the city council.
